Pskov-Pechersky Monastery

Spaso-Elizarovsky Monastery

Located 27 km from Pskov. Founded by the Monk Euphrosynus. The time of foundation is 1447. The main temple of the monastery is the white-stone Cathedral of the Three Saints. Its revival began in 2000. A new nursing building and a refectory were built. There is a hotel in the old nursing building. The main icons of the monastery are the Tsaregrad icon of the Mother of God, as well as the Savior Elizarovsky icon, revered as the patron saint of the Pskov land.

3. Snetogorsk monastery

It is located 3.5 km from the center of Pskov, on the right bank of the Velikaya River. Full name - Snetogorsk Monastery of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin MaryIt is over 700 years old and is one of the oldest monasteries in Russia. Opened in 1993 after restoration as a woman's. Krypetsky Monastery

Founded in the 15th century by the Monk Savva Krypetskiy. The full name is Krypetsky Ioanno-Theological Monastery. It is located 25 km from Pskov. On the territory of the monastery there is a two-storey Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist of the 15th century, built by Abbot Theoktist. Upstairs there is a chapel in the name of St. Sava the Archbishop of Serbia, below the chapel of Sava Krypetskiy. The monastery is also known for the holy spring of Sava Krypetsky.

Mirozhsky monastery

It occupies one of the central places among the Christian values ​​of Pskov. Located on the left bank of the Velikaya River. It was first mentioned in the annals in 1156. It is famous for the preserved frescoes of the Transfiguration Cathedral, dating from the pre-Mongol period, painted by Byzantine masters. The cathedral itself belongs to the cross-domed type of temples, built of plinth and stone, dates back to the 11th century.

Svyatogorsk monastery

Monastery for men. Located in the village of Pushkinskie Gory. Founded in the 16th century by order of Ivan IV the Terrible. It is famous for the miraculous icon of the Mother of God Hodegetria. The Dormition Cathedral of 1569 has been preserved, it is guessed in the style of the Pskov architectural school of the 16th century. Also on the territory of the monastery there is a bell tower from 1821 and a fraternal building dating from 1820. The Svyatogorsk monastery became the resting place for A.S. Pushkin.

Nikandrova hermitage

It is located about 70 km from Pskov. The founder is considered to be St. Nikandra. The monastery dates back to the 16th century. On its territory there is a white-stone Church of the Annunciation with blue domes, built and illuminated in 2005. Pilgrims strive to visit the Holy Spring of Peter and Paul. Also here is the church of the icon of Our Lady "The Seeking of the Perished" built in 2002 and the wooden church of the Royal New Martyrs (2004-2007). In 2005, the chapel of Alexander Svirsky was built, it is located above the source in the name of the saint.

Tvozhkovsky monastery

Convent. Located in the village of Tvorozhkovo, founded in 1862. The monastery was built on a high hill overlooking Lake Kamennoye. Its founder is Alexandra Filippovna von Rose, a graduate of the Smolny Institute for Noble Maidens. In 1929 the monastery was closed. Its revival began in the 2000s. The Holy Trinity Church was restored. Opposite the temple there is a hotel, to the right of it there is a sister building. There is also a wooden church of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow".

Simansky monastery

Convent. It is located in the city of Ostrov on the banks of the Velikaya River. 50 km from Pskov. The monastery was founded by immigrants from the ancient noble family of Simansky, to this family belonged the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy I. Since 2003, the revival of the monastery has begun. A wooden church of St. John of Kronstadt was built, as well as the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, the Church of the Archangel Michael. The monastery walls were reconstructed, two refectories were built, new buildings, one of which houses the Museum of Patriarch Alexy I.

Spaso-Onufriev skete (Malsky monastery)

It is located 18 km from the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery, on the shore of Lake Malskoye. Founded in 1471. The monastery was founded by the Monk Onuphrius of Malsky. The monastery is quite small in size. The monastery was ruined and destroyed several times. The five-domed Nativity of Christ Cathedral, the refectory church, and the four-sided bell tower, a masterpiece of Pskov church architecture, have survived.
