So, the entire lower and upper embankment of the Angara River can be attributed to the city and the most famous cycling routes of Irkutsk. We get on a bike from the very beginning of the Akademichesky Bridge in the area of the Komsomol entertainment center and ride along the paths along the Angara River to Fortuna itself, how do you like this way? In my opinion, for all tourists by bike, this is the most successful city path.
This direction is especially suitable for those who decided to ride the route of Irkutsk after work or for those who live nearby and can ride here every day. It makes no sense to talk about all the directions of the city center, everyone has already traveled everything here, so we move on.
The weekend itinerary, which is perfect for cycling in a circle, starting from the Akademichesky Bridge and in a circle to the Dam of the Hydroelectric Power Station, then along Akademicheskaya Street, the approximate time of this journey will be about 4 hours. Let's walk along the country routes and around the city routes in the area of forest and nature. I'll start with the Selevanikha route - the other side of the Irkut River, through the Angara Resort, see the route on the map. The approximate time of the bike ride is 4 hours, with stops to feed the squirrels in the Angara resort.
No one has ever tried to get from Irkutsk to Chaika by bicycle along the Kultuk tract, I made this route last summer, now I advise you too. This route is suitable for people who have a really good body and sports spirit, the route is very difficult and requires more than serious preparation. As for me, I went with a group of cyclists, with whom we became friends on my blog, and at exactly 6 o'clock in the morning we left towards Lake Baikal.
Having traveled almost 100 kilometers in 9 hours, we stayed overnight at the Kedr camp site, again I ordered rooms in the camp site through my website, so it comes out cheaper. Early in the morning we went back home by train to Irkutsk. The route that I recommend you to try will give you not only confidence in yourself, but also just amazing emotions!
For weaker people who like to ride in nature, I recommend trying the path in the direction of Irkutsk - Shamanka, through Moty. You leave at 6 o'clock in the morning and at 5 o'clock in the evening you are already at home in Irkutsk. In Shamanka, you can stay overnight in tents, having crossed the ferry to the other side of Irkut, there are very beautiful and rocky places that will give you the opportunity to spend time with a company of friends.
Another route on which I go skiing in winter and cycling in summer, I mean the camp site in Plishkino, or rather not only the camp site, but the entire surrounding area, here you can ride anywhere and in any direction. In general, we take the direction in the area of the K9 nursery and the Dynamo base, and there you will orient yourself.
Another bicycle path for extreme lovers or those who like to ride in nature in the village of Listvyanka, we go by car with our bicycles, unload near the Mayak hotel and take a direct course towards Bolshiye Koty. Here, as long as you have enough, you can drive along the coast of Lake Baikal, you can get to the village of Bolshiye Koty itself.
The track is winding, at times there are even cliffs, there are mountain slopes, so it is better for unprepared bicycle tourists not to pry here. The route is short, but difficult and scenic.
From city routes, for those who like to ride in the evening after work, I advise you to be on the embankment of the lower Lisikha. There is where to ride and where to sit in a beautiful small park.
